Ministers have said legislation is expected before Parliament by the end of the year and protections coming into force in Spring 2027.
The consultation is now closed, and the Government has confirmed it will introduce a ban for under-16s with additional restrictions on features like livestreaming and stranger contact. The fight now is making sure those regulations are strong, enforceable, and not watered down or delayed between now and Spring 2027.
